Your favorite zookeepers Cara and Bobbi want to introduce you to this resource to help you figure out where in the web to find what you seek.

Featured Guide: Online Transportation Research Publications

This LibGuide comes to you from our very own Cara Marcus of NTKN and the National RTAP Resource Center, as well as Sandra Brady at LTRC and John Cherney from the Wisconsin DOT Library.

The platform for this guide is provided through the National Transportation Library

Greetings and salutations, as our friend Charlotte would say.

Of COURSE we are talking about spiders today.

Let’s put a clever spin on these creatures by not sharing realistic pictures that will trigger arachnophobia (fear of spiders).

With that out of the way, let’s weave our way through this LibGuide!

The first tab includes an introduction. The FHWA Pooled Fund Study section on the left includes a link to a consortium of libraries in the DOTs and UTCs who work together to make library services even better. Look at that fly catching image!

The center of the page includes links to TRID (Transport Research International Documentation)  and NTL (The National Transportation Library) so you don’t have to climb up the water spout to locate these go-to resources.

Let’s make like Peter Parker and swing over to the second tab, State Research Reports, where you will find a list of states and their access points. This powerful site would even make Uncle Ben proud because “with great power comes great responsibility” and who is more responsible than our information stewards? For times when you “don’t want to know but need to know”, this is the place to be.

On to the third tab, National Publications, feast all eight of your eyes on these collections. We can start from the top at FHWA and glide on down to the Innovative Pavement Research Foundation.

Eeek!

A spider on the floor! Who could ask for any more?!

Well, we have a lot more with the Multi State Consortium section and The American Transportation Research Institute!

Take some time to explore these areas and create a fabulous (World Wide) Web of your own.

Thanks for making it through the spiderverse with us. I think we’ve got this one all wrapped up!
