The National Transportation Library has extensive policy and procedures for the management and upkeep of our collections. Sections R07-R13 detail the entirety of our organization's practices regarding the handling of digital objects. These sections cover the lifecycle of our objects, from deposit and appraisal, long-term preservation, ensuring quality and authenticity, current curation workflows, item discovery, and item reuse. This section discusses our levels of preservation and curation through new, active programs such as the CURATE(D) workflow and the creation of robust data practices. Through these descriptions, the National Transportation Library illustrates its adherence to quality preservation methods, innovations in research data management practices, and commitment to the future of open science.
