For the exercise Ardent Sentry 2017 the University of Vermont Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Team partnered with the Civil Air Patrol and FEMA to use UAS to help locate a downed aircraft. Funding for this work was made possible through AmericaView, a national consortium dedicated to advancing remote sensing research, education, and outreach.
