Slip Resistance for ADA Compliant Walkway: Federal Resources and Standards

Slip Resistance for ADA Compliant Walkway

This guide looks at the issue of skid resistance on pedestrian walkways.  Developing standards has been difficult, in part because of different methods of measuring skid resistance.  ASTM has developed a standard for validating and calibrating tribometers - and there are a number of articles and papers about the best practices for determining skid resistance.

This platform is provided to transportation librarians through the National Transportation Library.
