Research on environmental issues comparing the use of roundabouts and signalized intersection shows varying results.  These differences could be a result of differences in data collection methods, road characteristics, vehicle demands, and emission estimation method.  Meneguzzer, Gastaldi, and Arboretti (2018) gave a fairly extensive literature review in their report, and summarized the results of reviewed studies with the information in the attached chart below.  None of these studies were truck-specific, although Salamati et al. (2015) included passenger trucks in their study.  Articles are listed alphabetically by author.
