Knock knock. Who’s there? Owls. Owls Who? That’s right! Owls DO who.

Welcome to the owl exhibit where we will learn a lot about WHO goes where. There is a LibGuide containing lists of organizational charts for many DOTs (Departments of Transportation) throughout the nation. Cara and Bobbi are going to show you where the employees of each can be spotted.

Featured Guide: Whoo’s whoo at the zoo: State DOT Organizational Charts LibGuide

This LibGuide comes to you from our very own Renee McHenry (Now Retired) of the Missouri Department of Transportation

The platform for this guide is provided through the National Transportation Library

Guide Encounter:

The very first thing we see on this guide is a request. Whoo are you? Is your DOT represented in the State DOT Organizational Chart LibGuide? Should it be? This guide is exciting because it is still growing, and you can help!

You don’t want to be owl by yourself, do you? If your state is not listed, please contact the guide author to get on the who’s whoo list.

Now to the organizational charts. The most recent wings of wisdom are on the left while past compilations of organizational charts, analysis of organizational charts and best practices in organizational charts appear on the right.

You might also give a hoot about the material found in the departmental units tab. Here you will find links to some recent reports and syntheses that relate to staffing and project delivery.

While you are here, we would like to make a flap about the Research Programs section that includes the NCHRP Synthesis, Managing Transportation Research Programs and the 2013 Research and Library Staffing Survey

Did you know a group of owls is called a parliament? On the bottom you might notice a parliament of states have their own project delivery organizational charts.

Note that if organizational information is only accessible through an agency employee intranet, it isn’t currently featured on this page.

Some say all owl puns are bad. Says whoooo? With that, owl see you next time for another guide to the guides!
